  • Amazing Live-Action Adaptation.
    The feels train is back.

For those who thought that you would be safe from sharing some tears just because this is not the anime, you can prove yourselves wrong.

Normally I don't review a live-action adaptation; alas, this is my first review ever for a live action movie, but I just had to do it. The actors made an amazing work bringing us back our beloved Anohana characters. They kept ...

    Tissues Aren't Enough!
If you feel the need to hop aboard the feels train, jump right in. Though, I must warn you, tissues won't be enough for this ride. Even after watching the anime series and movie, I suggest keeping a towel or three handy.

The cast did an amazing job bringing the anime to life. They were flawless in playing and looking the part (and I'll admit, I thought Tsuruko's actress was cute). And, you ...

NOT A DRAMA, IT'S A LIVE ACTION FILM
this is not a drama, it's a live action film.
still good though, it trims much of the fat of the anime series (not that there was much of it to begin with) and does a good job of condensing the material without loosing too much. one of the best things is that they brought over the fantastic music from the anime series, as well as throw in a few original tracks made for the film itself, so it ...

Don't be fooled into thinking you will be safe emotionally
Honestly this is two hours that tore me up emotionally. I thought the anime was good at that, but this surpassed the anime by far. The actors and actresses were a perfect fit for their parts, and the emotions they portrayed were so real they will pierce you through.

It is a movie and not a series so you will get the entire story-line in one shot (if you can handle watching it in one shot). ...

  • Get your tissue ready
Oh geez, have your box of tissues near you. I watched the anime and loved it, so i figured this live action wouldn't really live up to the anime. I cried so much when i first saw the anime and didn't think the same thing would happen while watching this. Boy was i wrong! I still ended up crying like a baby. Great movie, great anime, a must watch!

    Retains all the feels
I didn't think this could live up to the anime... I figured it would be a disappointment like the death note drama. I was mistaken. Even though it isn't as long as the anime and they had to cut out certain parts, it packed the same emotional punch in the guts, can barely see because of the tears, soul ripping feels. If you liked the anime, this is a must watch.

  • Anohana: A drama adaptation well worth watching!
Get the tissue box ready! Despite eleven episodes being crammed into just two hours, you'll still need the tissues handy for when the screen blurs up on regular occasions. As an adaptation, they have left out a great portion of the character's present situation, instead focusing on their past and present struggles seven years on after the tragic day that changed their lives.

    Although Jintan is ...

    Compared to the anime...
The pacing is bad. What do you expect from a whole series crammed into about 2 hours?

Due to bad pacing, it has terrible character development. They skipped lovely scenes like the Nokemon scene with Anaru and Jintan which helped build back their friendship.

I cried over the anime even after so many times of rewatching. This does not give you the same feels.

    One of the Best Adaptations!!!
This (Drama) Film based on the anime, Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, surpassed my expectations of what a drama could be. This film greatly told the story of the Super Peace Buster's emotional journey to grant Menma's final wish. Many film adaptations of animes fail in their task to capture the essence of their source, but I'm here to say, that this film is what most people hope for in an ...
