  • #227. What's past is prologue.
Ditching school and staying home is normal for Jinta Yadomi, up until he starts seeing his childhood friend Meiko "Menma" Honma. This isn’t right though, since she had died back when they were in grade school years ago. He believes she is a hallucination, up until Menma makes a request of Jinta Yadomi that will change his daily routine, “Help me make my wish come true.”

    Anohana, is a legendary ...

  • The saddest anime i've ever seen
Ok, wow, this anime is just so sad. Just the idea, a child is dead and now her ghost wants to interact with her friends.

The characters are all realistic, the music (especially the ending theme "Secret Base").

Gosh the ending, the ending legit made me cry, the only anime to do so. It was so sad, i had to watch a happier anime to feel better.

    A must watch!

  • The Best ever Drama Anime
the last time I cried was when my brother died...
    It was painful...

I never thought this anime would make me melt with emotions. I salute the writers and creators of this wonderful FLOWER. I don't even know if there's any anime or even human-played cinema-dramas that can come close to Anohana's PERFECTION. I'm looking forward to see this anime be interpreted by high-calibre actors/actresses; ...

  • Not as tragic as advertized
Considering that the tragic event is revealed in the first episode, this show is more about healing than being dealt a sudden blow. So it's more uplifting than you'd think judging from a lot of the reviews out there.

My main gripe with the story is the unrealistic idea that these 16 year olds hold so tenaciously to memories and bonds made when they were 6 friggin' years old. That minor issue ...

  • I love Anohana, and I will never forget it
Watching Anohana made me sob, even the OP did. Its a good experience seeing how much people can change and go through hardships as they grow older. I hope their friendship never dies! (~˘▾˘)~ I really recommend this, so please watch and sob with me! (ง'̀-'́)ง

  • I cried like 4 times
Nothing more needs be said really. It's really well done. I actually didn't know Menma was dead until like halfway through the second episode. All the characters were really fleshed out and likeable, especially Jinta... but maybe I'm biased because I fell in love with his design instantly. All in all a good show.

The individual struggles and traumatic experience of each of the members (including Meiko's family) are all brought out into the light after discovering Meiko is ...

Stupid, Cheesy Soap Opera; Nothing Happens.
Really quite bad. Padded out with tons of filler. The bulk of the show is long, boring, melodramatic conversations about unrequited love. If you really want to watch this show, watch the first episode, skip the following seven episodes, and watch the last three episodes. You'll like the show a lot more and you'll have missed nothing.
