    Poorly executed yet loyal adaptation
Berserk 2016 has many sins, some of which are forgiveable. The CGI is wooden, verging on uncanny valley territory. The brief appearances of some admittedly nice looking 2D art makes the 3D all the more jarring and off putting. The music, while okay on its own, clashes tonally with this darkest arc of Berserk(so far!). It is either the far too bright and uplifting "Ashes" (aka Hai-Yo) or painfully ...

Lazily done work drags a great Name through the mud.
I am writing this because of the pure rage I feel towards this series and its creators, for taking one of my most beloved stories and creating a cheap production to make a quick buck.

I tolerated season one for just being a B teams first attempt at a show with a new style and lamented that now we would have to wait another 10 to 15 years to maybe get a new adaption. However season two comes ...

TELL ME WHY TELL ME WHY
If you have any interest in the series please pickup the manga.
Berserk is an incredible manga with an amazing story and amazing characters. The anime's terrible animation fails to capture the characters emotions and intense battles and fails to recreate the beautiful panels that are prevalent throughout the manga. This is the only manga I've ever read so try not to think I'm one of those "The ...

An embarrassing adaptation of a classic manga series.
I really, really wanted to like this show. I wanted it to be everything I ever dreamed of, I wanted it to be Berserk coming to life.

When I realized that was not what I was getting, right around 10 minutes into the first episode, I wanted to settle, and convince myself that something was better than nothing, and that the story and characters would be enough to carry this series for me. Sadly ...

    Animation Abomination
This show is a catastrophe. A bonafide clusterf**k. And it's not just one thing. It's almost every aspect of the show.

The animation is probably the worst you will see for years (from broadcast tv)
The "camera work" is incomprehensibly bad (a lot of shots just make no sense)
The character design is off-putting to say the least (some people look like they were
    drawn in completely ...

Where is the rest of the scenes?
What happened here, did IMPACT pictures get ahold of this first? They are good at the pan and scan let's keep the camera centered so you can't see what's happening sort of thing. Half of almost every scene seems to be missing, peoples heads and faces are missing, even the title cards have parts missing(the Japanese lettering above 'berserk') you don't always see some of the action taking place. It ...

    Directed very poorly
Look, I understand if you want to forgive this adaptation's faults because you really want to see Berserk get an adaptation to draw in those who apparently can't read comics, but stop making excuses for it. It's poorly done, and not just because it looks terrible.

In the original, after the Golden Age arc, Guts slowly grows from a jerk who thinks he'll never love or trust anyone again ...

    Read the manga instead.
OK, lemme start off by saying that Berserk is my all time favorite manga. It is a bonafide masterpiece with a captivating story, characters, lore, artwork, etc. that continues to amaze me and millions of other readers to this day.

However, Liden Films, GEMBA and Millepensee's adaptation of Berserk is an absolute disgrace to what is arguably the greatest manga of all time.

    It cuts way too ...

    Actually does a decent Job
This anime actually did a great job adapting the Tower of Conviction Arc. There were many scenes I thought they would shy away from, but they went straight for them. I was looking at the manga chapters before each episode to compare, and many of the scenes were straight out of the manga. Do I wish they covered he Black swordsman and Lost Children arc, yes. Do I wish It wasn't so CG heavy, of ...

    Good story bad execution.
The story of Berserk is a dark and gritty one and well worth the read and watch, but not this particular variation. There are several issues with this anime.
    1. Poor camera angles for action sequences. The director of this anime isn't very experienced with 3D CGI and it shows it also doesn't help that the directors experience is with comedy anime. Cinematography for action and Comedy is ...
