  • Weirdly Charming; One of My New Favorites
To keep it short and sweet, Boogiepop and Others is something everyone looking for something just a little different should watch. I don't want to sound like an edgelord, but the over-the-top flashy action scenes found in mainstream shounen-esque anime really don't hold a candle to what this offers. The story can be confusing to follow, characters are designed without blue hair and exaggerated ...

  • The thumbnail of this show grabs your attention.
So, this will be my first time rating an Anime a three. The series of Boogiepop and others seems like a good anime series in the first three episodes. Good plot good story and you have the main hero/villain. Booglepop is not your everyday hero; sure, she saves you when the time is needed. But, she doesn't save everyone. It seems Booglepop is very selective. On whom she chooses to save. So, you ...

  • Mysterious, Unexpected, and Riveting
I began watching this out of curiosity when I heard somebody talking about it. "What kind of anime name is Boogiepop?" I found myself asking...and I was not disappointed.
**Serious note to take before watching: watch a whole arc at a time. It will make SO MUCH more sense. It is told in a non-linear style with a compounded resolution at the end of each arc that is fulfilling.
    The series is ...

  • It fills one with wonder
I enjoy action and supernatural anime the most, however the fact that the creators added such an intellectual back theme to it caught me completely off guard. It starts off a little slow, but the more you watch, the more you understand the nuances. This show is not meant for background noise.

TL;DR If you play this anime with the intent of watching it, you'll find that sometimes it even snows ...

  • Anime Loses Track Of Itself
There is a lot to like about this anime. A superhero theme that isn't quite hidden but isn't too noticed by society, delving heavily into the psychological framework of people, while exploring philosophical questions.

There is a lot to dislike about this anime too...

Initially within the first three episodes, which consists of the first arc of the anime, you get a non-linear storyline that ...

Pretentious trash, not a quirky gem
Zero substance. Waste of time. Good presentation of nothing. The dialogue is corny and cringey, probably a middleschooler wrote it for other middleschoolers. Doesn't deserve the 5 stars it's glamoured with here by others. It looked like a hidden gem with these reviews - that after getting through all POV there are amazing things to be found, but it's just a massive waste of time.

  • Fantastic & Artistic
Best opening song I've ever heard, it's a bit of a trip to watch and definitely takes more than one watch through to properly understand. The first time I watched it, I finished it HIGHLY confused, but was intrigued enough to go back and watch it again. I wasn't disappointed. Boogiepop is a fantastic piece of art that's rarely seen in these days of anime existing entirely for subsets expecting the ...

Gonna need a roadmap for this one
If you didn't watch the original, or have trouble with slow pacing, then stay away. This was not a show for the masses, and can be a hell of a grind to get through if you are not well versed in any of the previous work. I will say what Boopiepop does, it does well, but this was just not the show for me.

  • A psychological thriller that examines the human condition through a supernatural lens.
Boogiepop and Others is a fairly dense look into human struggles and emotion represented through supernatural stories. The plot may seem haphazard as this season covered the first four stories of the light novel series, but it's focus on the specific moments over the wider overarching story alleviates that. Boogiepop is compelling not for its action or stakes, but for what it explores.

    When you ...
