  • Fantastic & Artistic
Best opening song I've ever heard, it's a bit of a trip to watch and definitely takes more than one watch through to properly understand. The first time I watched it, I finished it HIGHLY confused, but was intrigued enough to go back and watch it again. I wasn't disappointed. Boogiepop is a fantastic piece of art that's rarely seen in these days of anime existing entirely for subsets expecting the ...

Gonna need a roadmap for this one
If you didn't watch the original, or have trouble with slow pacing, then stay away. This was not a show for the masses, and can be a hell of a grind to get through if you are not well versed in any of the previous work. I will say what Boopiepop does, it does well, but this was just not the show for me.

  • A psychological thriller that examines the human condition through a supernatural lens.
Boogiepop and Others is a fairly dense look into human struggles and emotion represented through supernatural stories. The plot may seem haphazard as this season covered the first four stories of the light novel series, but it's focus on the specific moments over the wider overarching story alleviates that. Boogiepop is compelling not for its action or stakes, but for what it explores.

    When you ...

  • Big Fav of the season It's not for causal viewing
I was very confused at first , but once I started watching I just couldn't stuff , It feels kinda similar to durarara where you get the same story from multiple pov that connect into one plot , the animation was beautiful and I loved how the characters designs looked normal regular day people but they still managed to make them unique!! I watched it without reading the light novels and enjoyed ...

  • Mystery Science Theater Presents Boogiepop
This show is definitely not for everyone. I would have to say feels a lot like Ghost in the Shell or Psycho Pass with how it tries to focus on dialogue over action. Each arc delves into a different aspect of human existence and the philosophical questions surrounding. Sometimes the concepts aren't really broken down and still require some homework.

I went into this show having never seen the ...

    Seemed promising, but.....
The anime seemed promising and with potential at the start. The "kira" like villain at the start of the series seemed to be a very interesting character. Was extremely disappointed at how quickly and effortlessly he was disposed of. The rest of the characters seemed shallow. Boggie Pop herself seemed interesting at the start. Her cool, overpowered character seemed cool at the start. I quickly grew ...

    Boogiepop is a Masterpiece
The last Boogiepop anime aired back in 2000. We've had to wait 18 years for the new show. I for one, think it was well worth the wait, and that it's even better than the original.

It's easily one of the most recognizable titles in anime, and I'm not surprised that all the more impatient people on CR don't like it, or feel like they can't understand it. Let's face it, for people who feel this ...

  • Good anime. Not enough action though.
Anyone watching this show, has to really pay attention. The show becomes complex when it goes back & forth on the timelines. I will need to rewatch this to grasp a better understanding. That is the only reason I gave the show a 4-star rating. Besides that, BoogiPop is a good anime to watch.
