MADHOUSE delivers another brutal piece of entertainment.
I'm going to be honest, I enjoy this show, BUTTTTTTTT I've got no clue how to explain the premise. It's one of those shows that shifts perspectives a lot, but everything is connected to everything else in some way. It delves into people with supernatural powers, strange creatures, and a high level of violence. It's well worth watching (like most MADHOUSE anime,) but expect to be confused, given ...

    Great Adaptation of a Novel
I was hesitant at first when i started this series but it did an amazing job so far adapting the novels into an anime format. Given the novels are from different points of view that tells a complex story i was afraid that it wouldnt do a good job at this but it still held on to that part and still tells a story that with a little effort on the viewers part, like the novels did o the readers part, ...

Non linear Storytelling at it's best
    Fully spoilers free review
Starting with an absolute killer opening, Boogiepop and others promises and delivers immediately with one thing: nonlinear, borderline confusing but deliberate and symbolic narrative. Presented as a sort of supernatural mistery series, the series is split into small arcs telling and re telling the same mistery from many points of view, all of them with limited ...

    The beautiful visuals it deserved
I remember reading this light novel back in high school and getting confused once or twice, but it's such a great story I had to reread it at least half a dozen times and it will always be on my list of favorites.

So far this anime has lived up to and exceeded my expectations. While the old art had a certain charm to it, I love the face lift the show has gotten and the characters are being ...

    Boogiepop Doesn't Laugh
Boogiepop and Others is a prequel to the 2000 series, Boogiepop Phantom. If you're not well versed in the Boogiepop series, the storytelling is a little different than what you'd typically see in anime. Where most anime focuses on a linear story, the Boogiepop series features a non-linear story. Where Phantom served as an animated continuation to the first LN, Others IS the first LN - the very LN ...

Very Confusing, but I Dig It.
I've watched the past two episodes and I'm confused as of right now, although I enjoy the experience I really do hope that in further episodes they do a bit more explaining, or at least enough so you can do your own interpretation of the series. Hopefully the quality keeps remaining the same and doesn't decline.

Nothing there - what's the hype about?
The characters and animation are completely flat. This is one of the few times that I was unable to finish even the first episode just on quality grounds. I'm surprised about the level of interest this is getting.

Since the director was Shingo Natsume who's done some really cool things like ACCA: 13 and One Punch Man + it's coming out of Madhouse which has done a ton of great things... I ...

    Promising Super-Natural Mystery Thriller
The first episode is a slog.

I'm just going to get that out of the way. It was slow, monotonous, boring, and just a perfect example of how you probably shouldn't start off a slow build up to the plot. The main guy is boring, his supernatural girl friend is goofy, there's nothing more than the setting to hold the string of random events together and all in all it comes off a nonsense. Boring ...

    It's been almost 20 years...
    *WARNING, MAY BE SPOILER HEAVY*

I am what you can call... an Older anime fan.. not as old as some, but I cut my teeth on Robotech back in the days when it was on Toonami... in those days we fans didn't always have the internet, or if we did it was the old dial up variety, our bandwidth was measured in Kilobytes, not Gigs... Around those days... Okay closer to 16 years ago, on the channel ...

    The J.J. Abrams Of Anime!
With shifting perspectives and timelines this anime is not a casual viewing experiencing.

However, if you treat this more as a serious art piece you will not be disappointed.

With a score by Kensuke Ushio and based on the original in 2000 I can't recommend this enough!

Finally a serious anime for serious anime fans!
