A super-shiny race to the red light anime
Chain Chronicle is a hyper-staged example of what I like to call a race to the red light. You may have been driving down a street, and have someone race past you, cut you off, then slam on their brakes as the light was red the entire time. Another example is those morons who stand up the second their plane lands on the tarmac--like they are going to be able to rush to the front of the plane ...

Perfectly Watchable even without knowing what this is.
    Spectacular fight scenes.
    Crisp, cleananimation.
    Unique and likeable characters.
Enough information given to know where the story is going and how they got there.

It is perfectly fine to watch this with no prior knowledge of the franchise.

This is not a captivating conspiracy or political maneuvering plot-twisting thriller. Its just a pure straight up fantasy fighting action ...

Not worth it in my opinion.
The animation and music in Chain Chronicle are both excellent; if only the same could be said for the characters and plot. I'm ordinarily a pretty big fan of fantasy anime, but the show gets too many things wrong for me to feel like it was worth my time to watch it. Chain Chronicle is evidently based on a mobile game and it shows: the abilities used by characters look like power-ups from a ...

    fantasy geeks will love it!
As someone who loves fantasy, and I mean bleeds fantasy. This gave me my long missing as far as current anime goes fantasy fix. Now that said its definitely not perfect, story jumps around quite a bit. The characters.... Boy-o-boy does it have a ton of characters, which are basically provided no back story for at all. This leaves you feeling as if this is more of a 50 ep series than a movie imo. ...

    Quick but satisfying
WARNING: This anime is not a standalone series.
It is primarily based on a JP mobile game. Prior to the events of this anime there was a very short animation that follows the events of before the story set here. With that said, I am reviewing this haven't watched the anime set before this one. Here is more information about it: ...

    High potential, high disappointment
Pros: Above average animation, HUGE cast of fairly interesting looking characters, unusual bard girl sings a pretty catchy song

Cons: Boring, predictable story; tropes abound; what few characters get development are infuriating

    Review:
My wife and I were very excited at the prospect of a new, well animated fantasy anime. Unfortunately, good animation is all this series has going for it. ...

    its a good fantasy anime
Its a great anime, give it a chance and you will like it if you like this sort of anime. You dont get alot of back story, but its good non the less, definitely worth watching. Its got all the fantasy elements, magic, dragons and demons! I cant wait to see in which direction they take it.

GIVE IT A CHANCE! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED
Please give this anime a chance. At first I thought of it as something I can kill a bit time with but it quickly drew me in.
In addition to what the other positive reviewers have said:
It drops you into the thick of things from the start, something most anime don't do.
Rather than wait(at times waste) several episodes or an entire season for world building, character development, etc. for the ...

The show stands on it's own,its well written, good character development , excellent animations
This is an engaging fantasy with good animations and memorable, well-developed characters. I entirely disagree with the viewpoint that this is not understandable because it starts at the "boss battle" (it does start there). This is clearly not your typical fantasy that moves from point A-->B. Those that don't enjoy the creative license of a well-written tale should stay away from this one. The ...

If you came for an epic story, just know this ain't it. Ik, I'm disappointed too.
Based on the first four episodes, which I assume will amount to one third of the entire show, this show is very disappointing from the impression I got after watching the first bit. Here I saw something new: getting dropped straight into the thick of it, in some Tower of Druaga-like world, and the final battle is already going on! "Okay, that was fast! I don't know who these characters are so I ...
