A New Twist On An Old Formula
Okay, standard demon hunters for hire setup with flashy battles and well-crafted magic graphics. What's particularly interesting about this typical shounen anime is there is no dull-ass Japanese 1st year high school student With A Magical Gift. It's rare to get actual experienced warriors who don't just jump in the cockpit of a Gundam and magically kick Mary Sue ass. Intriguingly, it looks ...

Painfully Generic Demon Hunters Fighting Painfully Generic Demons
This is just ridiculously generic. The characters are stock archetypes, the plot is cookie-cutter revenge... there's essentially no depth to the setting or characters, which isn't helped by them standing around explaining things that are obvious.

You shout "slow down" and things slow down, fine. You don't have to say "my 'slow down' power lets me slow things down".

    The ...

    You can try it but...
Honestly you can give it a shot and see what you think, however, take your pick, the battle animation or the writing, both are really bad.
I like giving things a chance but I think I've never had character development of the protagonists shoved down my throat in 2:30 minutes like a simple exposition, after that I honestly didnt bother anymore, and you probably wont as well.

    Painful Just to Watch
The pacing in this is off so much that any thing it tries to do well just falls flat, every single plot point is revealed to be fake often within the same episode leaving these "twists" feeling incredibly weak and phoned in and destroying any interest in the plot.

    Couldn't finish the first episode
Action sucked, too much cheese, characters don't react to things like people would in real life (EX: there's a monster attacking, you block its attack then turn around with your brother and do a long team rocket-esque intro to a random person). Nah, I'm good.

Read Manga don't watch the anime
The timing of this anime is very off from the Manga it seems to rush a lot of stuff, so go read the Manga, the manga feels more fleshed out and better. While the anime isnt that bad i would suggest to read from chapter 1 because chapter 0 was the Oneshot the author had to do before the series got popular enough to become an actual anime.

  • Weak Animation and Humor
The animation (action and not) wasn't very good, and the plot the first episode just sorta is plopped in your lap-- not very good story-telling. The humor was somewhat bland and the character interactions weren't very natural. The art style is pretty unoriginal too.

  • An Unbalance Paced, Underwhelming 'Shounen' Series.
This is a Semi-Spoiler Review. *READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.*

For those who want to dive into the series immediately, I wouldn't recommend you jump right in. You should read other reviews before decideing you want to watch this series.

But for anyone who wants an in-depth review about this anime, I'll give you the pros and cons on why this series just fell short of the stick.

    First off, ...

  • Not Terrible, But Not Great
Chronos Ruler was what you would expect out of a single cour anime based on a still in publication manga. You kind of have to take every episode for what it is--which is usually pretty entertaining. I found the last few episodes to be kind of boring, but Aiks was an interesting antagonist, so it was kind of worth it. Of course there is little resolution in the ending due to the manga not being ...

Its a fun show to watch
Honestly if youre the person who gets stuck up on how everything is laid out and setup then i guess your loss. Its a fun show to watch if you watch it for a sence of enjoyment rather then whether a character is realistic and "develops" through a show. Underrated
