"Sorry, due to licensing limitations, videos are unavailable in your region."
Then why am I on a monthly subscription, if not to legally stream anime!? This is absurd!

First off, I'll give it 5 stars because I'm watching it on Hulu. Why crunchyroll? Why?

Anyways, Kokonotsu (The protagonist) is son to the owner of the towns' candy shop. He's not really interested in succeeding his father, he'd rather draw manga for a living. That's when Hotaru shows up (One of two ...

Not sure why S2 is here and S1 isn't.
I did see that non-review that explained why the first season of the show isn't available. However, it was written in February of last year, so, possibly outdated. Now CR appears to be simulcasting the second season of this show, but the first season is still not here? Okay then, neat, I guess...

But it doesn't appear to matter. The show doesn't seem to have any sort of particularly deep story ...

I absolutely love this series! Own S1 too.
Some people don't care for it's quirky humor, trivia, and characters for some reason completely unknown to me as to why. I love everything about the anime. It's fairly accurate to the manga too, so that's also a plus.

    And Saya is simply adorable.

    "Quick! To the Asian Market!"
First of all, I hate how CR doesn't have this. I'm on Hulu watching this. Anyway, review.

2 episodes in and I love it. Simple plot but this show focuses on is what we're watching it for. An anime about snacks. Sounds stupid? It is in the way Lucky Star and Nichijou are. Stupid but just great. What this show doesn't have is a huge cast of characters. But the cut aways where candies and snack are ...

I've never been so entertained watching commercials.
    Now I'm hungry.

Seriously though. We've got a lovely bunch of weirdos for our cast, a cavalcade of junk food+trivia, and just the right touch of awkward human interaction.

My only complaint would be that the episodes are too short leaving you with the feeling that it all ended just a little bit too soon.

  • Enjoyed it, wish I knew I started with S2
Too little too late, I realize that only S2 is available here. And I already watched the entire thing, without watching ANY of the first season. So bear with me, as I didn't come in here with a great foundation.

At first I had absolutely 0 clue what was happening, and felt like I was launched into a show where there was a ton of missing information. (There is an entire season missing from my ...

  • Very funny slice of life comedy
I love watching slice of life anime. This one is at the top of the list of the genre. I'm not sure if I watched season two, but honestly, even if I did this anime is totally worth the rewatch. I also liked seeing all of the snacks they had (even though I'd get hungry af). Also, Hotaru is the bestt I stan. <3

  • Light and joyful comedy
Daga Shikashi is a "slice of life" anime, more comedy flavor than love romance (there is bit of it, though). I was grew up in Japan back in 1970s so I know some of Dagashi snacks featured in this show. Because of this background, Hotrau's introduciton of Dagashi snack is interesting to me. But even without it, this is light and joyful comedy anime.
