AKB48's Yuko Oshima to Dub Lead of Pixar's "Brave"

"Merida to Osoroshi no Mori" opens in Japan July 21 - "Brave" opens in North America June 22nd

North Americans are getting Pixar's new Brave on June 22nd, with Kelly Macdonald (Harry Potter's Helena "The Grey Lady" Ravenclaw) as the frizzy-haired Scottish lead, but when Merida to Osoroshi no Mori opens in Japan on July 21, that role will go to AKB48 Team K member Yuko Oshima.

This will be Oshima’s first time voice acting for a Hollywood film. She commented, “[I'm wondering] how I’m going to play this role. I’m already excited yet nervous at the same time.

Oshima calls Pixar's Toy Story 3 her favorite animated movie, saying, “I’ve been moved by it many times, and I’ve cried many times too.

The idol enthusiastically stated, “I want people to think my voice is perfect for Merida, and I will do my best to give courage and energy to people who watch it. Please look forward to the film.
