"Love Live!" Film Has Attracted 1.5 Million Audience in Japan

Becoming the most successful film based on a midnight TV anime

It is confirmed today that the all-new feature film Love Live! The School Idol Movie had attracted 1.5 million audience in Japan by August 1, in 50 days since its release on June 13, earning an astonishing 2.2 billion yen (about 17.73 million US dollars). It has become the most successful film based on a midnight TV anime series, beating the previous record holder Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Rebellion's 2.08 billion yen in 2013.

 

 

Today, August 3 is the birthday of the founder/leader of the school idol group μ's, Honoka Kousaka. The franchise's official Twitter is asking the fans to celebrate it.
