Upcoming short form anime is based on Koromo's web manga about a polar bear and a seal falling in love
The course of true love never did run smooth, especially when the love in question is between an affectionate male polar bear and a terrified male seal. Koi Suru Shirokuma, an upcoming short form anime based on the popular web manga by Koromo, has released a new key visual illustrating the difficulties of true romance in the animal kingdom.
Described as a "white love story in the Law of the Jungle world" and also as a "heart-warming B.L. (Beast Love) comedy", the original Koi Suru Shirokuma manga is published on the Pixiv Comic and Comic Walker websites. Kadokawa also publishes printed volumes of Koi Suru Shirokuma under their Media Factory Comics label.
The Koi Suru Shirokuma short form anime is written and directed by Kazuya Ichikawa and produced by Gathering. The series stars Yūichirō Umehara as Shirokuma-san, a lonely and amorous polar bear, and Natsuki Hanae as Azarashi-kun, a seal who initially mistakes Shirokuma-san's romantic advances as signs of hunger.
The Koi Suru Shirokuma anime will be previewed at some 50 movie theaters throughout Japan beginning on March 04, 2017. The shorts will be included alongside the trailer packages that screen before movies.
