"Little Witch Academia" TV Series Casts a Japanese Home Video Spell with English Subtitles

First volume of Bluray / DVD release hits stores in Japan on April 19, 2017

While non-Japanese fans of Little Witch Academia will still have to wait a little longer for the Netflix release of the TV series, otaku who wish to import the series recently received some good news: the Japanese Bluray and DVD home video releases of Little Witch Academia will include English subtitles.



The 1st volume of the 9 volume home video release will be published in Japan on April 19, 2017. The Bluray version retails for 6800 yen ($60.57 US) plus tax, while the DVD version retails for 5800 yen ($51.66 US) plus tax. The first disc includes 3 episodes of the Little Witch Academia TV series, and the limited edition 1st printing will also include a 48 page booklet with art settings and a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the show.



Little Witch Academia is directed by Yoh Yoshinari and features animation by Trigger. The series is currently airing in Japan on Tokyo MX, BS11, and Kansai TV, and will be digitally distributed world-wide by Netflix at a later date.
