Manga Magazine Chronicles Construction Of "Attack On Titan" Sand Sculpture

Earlier sculpture constructed in 2013

Back in August 2013, with the release of volume 11 of the Attack on Titan, sand sculptor Hosaka Toshihiko ventured outside the walls on a trip to Enoshima Higashihama beach to construct a tribute sculpture out of 80 tons of sand. Now, volume 23 has hit Japan and Toshihiko is back for a follow-up. The scene for the sculpture may be season 2 of the anime, but the promotion is tied to the manga and readers will know why its thematically appropriate.

Manga magazine Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine has been posting a look at its development and running a social media contest with 50 prizes including an "army issue" 5000yen pre-paid QUO card.
