Real-life venture based on manga author's fictional mega-corporation will design & license goods, games, and more
Manga author Tsutomu Nihei (BLAME!, Knights of Sidonia, APOSIMZ) and Polygon Pictures Holdings (the parent company of Polygon Pictures) have teamed up to form a new business venture entitled TOA Heavy Industries, LLP..
The new venture is named after the monolithic mega-corporation that appears in many of Nihei's works, and the goal of the new company is to plan the creation of original works (such as films and games), to manage existing licenses, and to create new designs for use in commercial goods and industrial products.
TOA Heavy Industries, LLP. was officially announced on March 05, 2018, and it is based in the Tokyo offices of Polygon Pictures Holdings. Polygon Pictures and Tsutomu Nihei have previously collaborated on 3DCG anime adaptations of Nihei's manga, such as the 2017 BLAME! film and the 2014 Knights of Sidonia TV anime and its 2015 sequel.
