Issei Shibata (Real Onigokko)-directed adaptation hits Japanese theaters January 2019
The official website for the forthcoming live-action film adaptation of Nitroplus' Norimitsu Kaihou (story) and Sadoru Chiba (art)'s moe-survival manga Gakkou Gurashi!/School-Live! started streaming a 60-second trailer introducing its cast and story setting today. In addition to the members of idol group Last Idol, who are cast as the four main girls of the School Living Club, 26-year-old TV talent Nonoka Ono is confirmed to portray as Megumi Sakura/Megu-nee, the adviser for the club.
The manga has been serialized in Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Forward since its July 2012 issue and has printed 2.5 million copies with ten tankobon volumes. 51-year-old Issei Shibata, best known for his directorial works for the Real Onigokko series, is attached to write and direct. The film will open in Japan in January 2019, and its advance screening event is scheduled to be held at Toho Cinemas Kinshi-cho theater in Tokyo on November 16.
