Fruits Basket Prepares for New Anime with Promo and Character Art

2019 series is coming to TV Tokyo in Japan, FunimationNow in North America


The first promos are in for the new Fruits Basket anime, which adapts Natsuki Takaya's manga with an all new cast and staff. You can see the Japanese promo below, followed by an English-subtitled version from Funimation and some character art that offers a look at who the new cast members will be playing. 




Fruits Basket will premiere on TV Tokyo in Japan, followed by FunimationNow's streaming service in North America, in 2019.


Yoshihide Ibata (Attack on Titan: Junior HighFLCL Progressive) is directing the new adaptation, which will cover the entire story of Natsuki Takaya's original manga. Taku Kishimoro (Haikyu!!HANEBADO!) is on series composition, and Masaru Shindo handles character designs for the TMS Entertainment production.


The main cast revealed thus far: 


Tohru Honda - Manaka Iwami (Maquia in Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms)



Yuki Sohma - Nobunaga Shimazaki (Haruka in Free!)



Kyo Sohma - Yuma Uchida (Ein in Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans)



Shigure Sohma - Yuichi Nakamura (Gray in Fairy Tail)
