Director Hiroki Yamaguchi returns for two-part sequel film based on Rei Mikamoto's splatter-action manga
Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw (known in English as BLOODY CHAINSAW GIRL), the splatter-action manga by Rei Mikamoto (Reiko the Zombie Shop), is roaring back into Japanese theaters in February of 2019 with a 2-part, live-action sequel film entitled Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw RED. The first part is subtitled "Nero's Revenge", while the second part is subtitled "Giko's Revival".
Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw RED is directed by Hiroki Yamaguchi and features a screenplay by Mitsunori Fukuhara. The film stars Nana Asakawa as Giko Nokomura, a chainsaw-wielding delinquent middle school student, and Ano as Nero Aoi, a mad scientist who has turned her classmates into zombies and super-powered mutants in order to challenge Giko.
The original Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw manga was serialized from 2009 - 2017 in Enter Brain's Comic Beam seinen manga magazine. The series was previously adapted into a 2016 live-action film directed by Hiroki Yamaguchi and starring Rio Uchida.
Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw RED hits theaters in Japan on February 22, 2019.
