Pokémon's Pikachu Cleaner may give others a run for their money
You probably didn't know how much you wanted your very own Pikachu riding on a Roomba until right now.
Japanese toy manufacturer Shine Co., Ltd. has announced that they are planning to release the "Pokémon Pikachu RunRun Cleaner," a robot vacuum themed after everyone's favorite electric rat. The early images are fairly shadowy, but the concept is clear:
When switched on, the Pikachu RunRun Cleaner will make its way around the room while Pikachu "talks." It will also redirect when it encounters an obstacle or drop, like the edge of a table.
Additionally, Shine Co. will be releasing the Pikachu Squishy Light:
The 30cm-tall soft figure reacts to contact by glowing (though apparently there is a "High Voltage" setting you'll want to watch out for!). Additionally, you can set it to "Dance" mode so it reacts in response to sound, or "Light" mode to have Pikachu emit a constant glow.
Both items will be displayed at next week's Tokyo International Gift Show, after which they will be offered widely for sale.
