Upcoming smartphone game to get an anime adaptation
Upcoming hot Buddha smartphone game Namuamida Butsu! -Rendai UTENA- is preparing to bring enlightenment to anime fans, too.
The series will be produced by the game's creator, DMM Games. Like its source, it will follow a group of Buddhist gods who have come to Earth to bring peace to its people.
The announcement came with a teaser PV:
As well as a key visual, showcasing the show's ikemen takes on Taishakuten and Bonten:
Five cast members have been announced so far:
Taishakuten: Masaaki Mizunaka (Diablo, How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord)
Bonten: Tomoaki Maeno (Dino, Blend S)
Ashura-ou: Tatsuhisa Suzuki (Noctis, Final Fantasy XV)
Shaka Nyorai: Showtaro Morikubo (Shikamaru, Naruto)
Dainichi Nyorai: Tetsuya Kakihara (Simon, Gurren Lagann)
Animator and character designer Akira Oguro will be directing, with Erika Yoshida (Trickster) handling series composition.
The Namu Amida Bu! -Rendai UTENA- smartphone game is schedule to come out this winter, with the anime to be released sometime in 2019.
