Strike Witches Spin-Off TV Anime Takes Off on April 09, 2019

New key visual and theme song information revealed for "Strike Witches 501 Butai Hasshin-shimasu!"


A new key visual, the Japanese broadcast schedule, and the theme song performers have been revealed for Strike Witches 501 Butai Hasshin-shimasu! ("Strike Witches 501st Unit, Taking Off!"), an upcoming short form comedy TV anime based on the Strike Witches spin-off gag manga by Fumikane Shimada and Projekt Kagonish.


The opening theme for the series, entitled "Sora ga yobu hou e" ("To the way the sky calls"), is performed by Yoko Ishida. The ending theme, entitled "Treasure of life", is performed by the 501st Joint Fighter Wing.



Strike Witches 501 Butai Hasshin-shimasu! is directed by Fumio Ito and features animation production by acca effe and Giga Production. The story of the series focuses on the humorous, everyday adventures of the 501st Unit (such as cooking, cleaning, and doing laundry) during their downtime between missions to combat the Νέυροι. Each episode is approximately 15 minutes in length.

Strike Witches 501 Butai Hasshin-shimasu! will broadcast in Japan according to the following TV schedule:


  • Tokyo MX: every Tuesday during the 24:45 time slot beginning on April 09, 2019.
  • TV Aichi: every Thursday during the 26:20 time slot beginning on April 11, 2019.
  • MBS (Mainichi Broadcasting System): every Tuesday during the 27:15 time slot beginning on April 09, 2019.
  • BS11: every Wednesday during the 24:15 time slot beginning on April 10, 2019.


Please note that some Japanese TV schedules count early-morning programming as late-night programming of the previous day, so for example the 24:15 time slot on Tuesday evening is actually at 12:15 AM JST on Wednesday morning.
