Adaptation of isekai fantasy light novel series hits AT-X and other stations on April 10, 2019
Phenomenal magical power isn't terribly helpful when wielded without restraint, or at least that's the lesson in the new trailer for The Wise Grandson (known in Japan as Kenja no Mago), an upcoming TV anime based on the series of isekai fantasy light novels written by Tsuyoshi Yoshioka and illustrated by Seiji Kikuchi about a young man who is reborn in a new world with incredible sorcery skills but zero common sense.
The original Kenja no Mago light novels are published in Japan by Enterbrain (a division of Kadokawa) under their Famitsu Bunko imprint. The story follows Shin Wolford, a young man who was originally from Japan, but who was reborn with his memories intact in a magical world, where he was adopted and raised as the grandson of the great sage Merlin Wolford. Unfortunately, Shin was raised in isolation and Merlin forgot to teach him basic common sense...
The Wise Grandson TV anime is directed by Masafumi Tamura and features animation production by SILVER LINK. The series will broadcast in Japan on AT-X, Asahi Broadcasting Corporation, and d Anime store beginning on April 10, 2019, with additional broadcasts to follow on Tokyo MX and BS11 on April 11, 2019.
