TRIGGER and XFLAG prepare to heat things up with their latest announcement
Kill la Kill and DARLING in the FRANXX studio TRIGGER is launching more news about Promare, its upcoming film about firefighters going toe-to-toe with fire-wielding mutants.
First up are two new cast additions. Appearing as firefighting mouse Vinny is comedian Kendo Kobayashi, who supplied the voice of Dice in One Piece Film Gold and appeared as the villainous Tonzler in Takashi Miike's live-action Yatterman.
Joining him is stage actor Arata Furuta, who appeared as Genma Saotome in 2011's live-action Ranma 1/2 special. The stage actor will be voicing Deus Prometh — about whom little is currently known.
Additionally, a new key visual has dropped, featuring protagonist Galo Thymos front and center. A variety of characters and units from the film are also visible, notably the reveal of Galo's superior Kray Foresight and BURNISH boss Lio Fotia.
Promare is directed by TRIGGER co-founder Hiroyuki Imaishi (Gurren Lagann, Dead Leaves) and features a screenplay by Kazuki Nakashima (Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill). It premieres in Japan on May 24.
