LINE and Aniplex Want You to Write the First Great Reiwa Era Novel

New PV from animator loundraw is here to get us hype

Aniplex and messaging app LINE are teaming up to find the first great novel of the Reiwa Era!

The collaboration, which also includes Nippon TV, is open to any kind of literature whatsoever, undefined by genre. The contest is looking to create something "suitable for a new era" unrestricted by theme, hence the lack of prompt for writers. It does have to be in Japanese, though... but if your work is selected, you'll pocket a cool 3 million yen.

Animator and illustrator loundraw headed up the creation of a new short to promote both the new LINE Novel service and the start of the 1st Reiwa Era Novel Grand Prize:

Entries are open from now until September 30. Entries will be available to read via the LINE Novel service. The grand prize winner, in addition to receiving the monetary prize, will also have their work turned into a book and adapted into a visual format (the nature of which will depend on the length and format of the entry).

The grand prize winner will be announced in March 2020.
