Mazinger Z Takes Its Hits as "Damaged" Version Action Figure

New Soul of Chogokin release features the original super robot in its anime color scheme

Even the toughest giant robot doesn't come out of its biggest battles unscathed. For those who love mecha anime at its grittiest, Soul of Chogokin has a new offering that doesn't skimp on battle damage.

The new GX-70D Mazinger Z D.C. Damaged version features Go Nagai's original super robot as seen at the end of 1974's Mazinger Z vs. the Great General of Darkness. The bot looks, as in its film appearance, both seriously beat up and super cool. Extra detail shows some of Z's internal working, including the framework of its (removable) Jet Scrander. It's also down one Rocket Punch, and Koji Kabuto's Hover Pilder has seen better days.

The figure is painted faithfully according to the anime film's colors. It's currently available for pre-order for 15,400 yen (tax included) from Premium Bandai. Orders are expected to ship out in December of this year.
