Dr. STONE Author Reacts to Anime's Massive Times Square Ad

Anime and The Lion King go head to head in NYC!

If you happen to find yourself in NYC's Times Square, you'll notice something especially awesome amongst the always audacious advertisements. Dr. STONE has officially invaded one of the billboards in the area, and one person in particular was suitably shocked to see it right across the street from ads for Broadway's The Lion King production.

That person is Dr. STONE writer Riichiro Inagaki, who works alongside illustrator Boichi on the Jump title. A few folks pointed out Crunchyroll's ad placement, to which Inagaki said, "“What? This isn’t fake? Whoa! [Ariga-stone gozaimasu!]"

The simulcast of Dr. STONE hits Crunchyroll on July 5.
