New cut of episode 11 puts a slightly different spin on things
Cells at Work! taught us how our body works, and how to look after it in return. In episode 11, we learned about the devastation of heat stroke and the wonders a saline drip can do. But a new cut of the episode gives a slightly different solution.
Japanese sports drink Pocari Sweat has gained some notoriety for its name, but it does what it says on the bottle: restores electrolytes the body loses when sweating. In the newly release "Episode 11.5" of Cells at Work!, it's also a deus ex machina for a dehydrated body.
The episode, re-released in part to help viewers remember how to stay hydrated this summer, is largely the same as the original aired version. But it's Pocari Sweat that saves the day: first with an ardent cell changing his rain dance to a Pocari Sweat dance (complete with new outfit), and later with a literal Pocari Sweat spaceship arriving to hydrate the suffering workers:

A representative from Kodansha spoke about the collaboration, saying it was fun to work on and that the Pocari Sweat Battleship seemed like a natural fit for the show's metaphorical imagery. The rep also wished everyone a pleasant summer, reminding us to stay hydrated and watch our electrolyes.
