Adaptation based on basketball manga by Takeshi Hinata begins broadcasting in Japan in October of 2019
Heads up, all you sports drama fans! A new key visual (below) has been published for Ahiru no Sora, an upcoming TV anime based on the basketball manga by Takeshi Hinata about a plucky but short-statured player who wants to turn his high school basketball club into a winning team.
The story of Ahiru no Sora follows protagonist Sora Kurumatani, a high school student who loves basketball even though he is only 149 centimeters (about 4'11") tall. After entering Kuzuryu High, Sora tries to join the basketball club to fulfill a promise to his mother and to win his first tournament in high school, but the club is dominated by punks and is no condition to compete. Encouraged by Sora's passion, they gradually dedicate themselves to the sport.
The original Ahiru no Sora manga is serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine. The TV anime is directed by Keizou Kusakawa and Shingo Tamaki and features animation production by Diomedéa. Ahiru no Sora will broadcast in Japan beginning in October of 2019.
