Original TV anime transplants Sir Arthur Conan Doyle characters to modern Tokyo in October of 2019
Mary Morstan is a woman of both action and introspection in a new character preview for Kabukicho Sherlock, an upcoming original TV anime that re-imagines the characters from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic detective novels as an unlikely band of private eyes snooping around the margins of Tokyo's night-life district.
Set in modern day Kabukicho in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan, Kabukicho Sherlock follows the comedic, mysterious, and dramatic adventures of a ragtag band of detectives as they live together in a tenement above Mrs. Hudson's bar in the red light district and attempt to solve an unusual string of killings known as the "Jack the Ripper Murders".
Kabukicho Sherlock is directed by Ai Yoshimura and features animation production by Production I.G. The series will broadcast in Japan on Fridays during the 25:55 time slot (actually at 1:55am JST on Saturday morning) as part of the Mainichi Broadcasting System / Tokyo Broadcasting System "Animeism" programming block beginning on October 11, 2019.
