Light novel adaptation will stream on select digital outlets and also receive a home video release

Main character Kufa Vampir brandishes his sword in the Assassins Pride TV anime.

Texas-based distributors Sentai Filmworks have announced the acquisition of upcoming fantasy light novel to TV anime adaptation, ASSASSINS PRIDE, for international streaming and North American home video release. The series will stream as part of the Fall 2019 anime season, with the home video version to follow at a later date.

The original ASSASSINS PRIDE novels are written by Kei Amagi, illustrated by Nino Ninomoto, and published in Japan by Fujimi Shobo (a division of Kadokawa) under their Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint. Sentai Filmworks describes the story of the series as follows:

In a world where only nobles wield the sacred power of mana to wage war against the creatures of darkness, a curious absence of ability places young Merida in a precarious position. Under the guise of tutelage, Kufa, a ruthless assassin, is sent to assess Merida’s abilities and determine if she is the true-born heir of the prestigious Angel family. If she does not measure up to her family’s expectations, another, more ruthless plan will be set in motion…

A new key visual for Assassins Pride, featuring the main characters: Melida Angel and Kufa Vampir.

ASSASSINS PRIDE is directed by Kazuya Aiura and features animation production by EMT Squared. The series will broadcast in Japan on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, BS NTV, and AT-X beginning on October 10, 2019, and it will also be streamed by Sentai Filmworks on select digital outlets in territories worldwide (except Asia).
