More cinemas added due to popular demand for the Kyoto Animation produced film
Due to popular demand, the Kyoto Animation produced film, Violet Evergarden: Spin-Off - Eternity and Auto Memory Doll -, will continue its run in Japanese theaters past October 18. The Haruka Fujita directed film will also be picking up 7 new screening locations across Japan’s northern prefectures of Hokkaido and Aomori, as well as in Tokyo, Okyama, and Hiroshima.
Originally, the spin-off anime film was set for a two-week limited release from September 6 to September 20, but in the wake of the July 18 arson attack on Kyoto Animation, its release was extended to three weeks. After, the films run was extended once due to popular demand and high satisfaction rankings until October 17. Now, the film run has been extended again to an undisclosed time.
The official website for the film announced that filmgoers would continue to receive one of the four newly-written novels from Violet Evergarden author Kana Akatsuki at random.
