Evangelion 3.0+1.0 Commences Second Half of Voice Recording

Voice actors for Shinji and Gendo are on hand for celebratory photo

Evangelion 3.0+1.0 is making headway toward its 2020 release. In fact, recording for the second half is underway!

The secondary account for Hideaki Anno's Studio Khara, which posts more behind-the-scenes content, shared a photo of the director with two of his Evangelion leads. Megumi Ogata (voice of Shinji Ikari, L) and Fumihiko Tachiki (voice of Gendo Ikari, R) joined Anno for the celebratory pic:

Included in the same tweet was a photo of Anno's personal copy of the movie script:

Production halted on the final film in the Rebuild of Evangelion series in 2015, which Anno cited as being due to depression following work on the third film, as well as taking on directorial duties for Shin Godzilla. Production resumed in 2017, with new animation staff hired on in 2018 and the first 10 minutes of the film screened in Paris this past June.

The capstone of the Rebuild project is now on track for a June 2020 release.
