Six more strange individuals have been announced for the cast of Dorohedoro, an upcoming TV anime based on the anarchic dark fantasy seinen manga by Q Hayashida about an amnesiac fellow with the face of a lizard trying to get his normal head back. The new cast members revealed include:
Mayu Udono as Kikurage.
Songdo as Risu.
Tetsu Inada as Tanba.
Shinichiro Miki as Turkey.
Hozumi Gōda as Asu.
And Anri Katsu as Chouta.
Additionally, character settings were also revealed for two previously announced characters, including:
Mitsuhiro Ichiki as Kasukabe.
And Hisao Egawa as Baux.
The original Dorohedoro manga was serialized in Shogakukan's Monthly Shōnen Sunday magazine. An English language version of Dorohedoro is also published by Viz Manga, who describe the story of the series as follows:
In a city so dismal it's known only as "the Hole," a clan of Sorcerers have been plucking people off the streets to use as guinea pigs for atrocious "experiments" in the black arts. In a dark alley, Nikaido found Caiman, a man with a reptile head and a bad case of amnesia. To undo the spell, they're hunting and killing the Sorcerers in the Hole, hoping that eventually they'll kill the right one. But when En, the head Sorcerer, gets word of a lizard-man slaughtering his people, he sends a crew of "cleaners" into the Hole, igniting a war between two worlds.
The Dorohedoro TV anime is directed by Yuichiro Hayashi and features animation production by MAPPA. The series will broadcast in Japan on Tokyo MX and other stations on Sundays during the 24:00 time slot beginning on January 12, 2020. The series will also be digitally distributed on Netflix.
