The upcoming anime adaptation of Darwin's Game will take viewers on a terrifying journey through a deadly game. With the premiere just around the corner we've got a new key visual, release date, OP theme singer, and some great news about the first episode.

First up, the show's new visual features a look at Kaname Sudo and series heroine Shuka, alongside fellow players Rein, Ryuuji, and Sui:

Singer ASCA has been confirmed as the performer for the show's OP theme, "CHAIN." ASCA has also performed themes for Sword Art Online Alicization, Record of Grancrest War, and Fate/Apocrypha.

It's also been confirmed that the first episode will run a full hour. A pre-screening will take place on December 24, with times and locations to follow.

Darwin's Game is based on the manga by duo FLIPFLOPs, in which 17-year-old Kaname Sudo unwittingly finds himself embroiled in a game of life and death via the Darwin's Game phone app. Unfortunately, he learns too late, there's no way to quit. The series will be written by FLIPFLOPs writer Shu Miyama, and is set to debut on TOKYO MX, BS11, and others on January 3.
