Kenichi Imaizumi (Reborn!, After School Dice Club) newly serves as director at Studio Signpost
The official website for the TV anime adaptation of Yasuhisa Hara's historical adventure manga Kingdom has revealed a teaser visual and the staff members for its forthcoming third season. In the visual, the protagonist Shin confronts the enemy with a background of Hangu Pass, which will be the main location of the Alliance Arc story in the next season.
In place of the first season (2012-2013)'s Jun Kamiya and the second season (2013-2014)'s Akira Iwanaga, Kenichi Imaizumi (Reborn!, After School Dice Club) newly serves as director alongside character designer Hisashi Abe (TV anime Berserk) and series composition writer Noboru Takagi (Golden Kamuy, The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These). The new staff members were chosen under the supervision of the manga author.
The anime's first two seasons were animated by Pierrot, and its group company St.Signpost (previously known as Pierrot Plus) works on anime production.
The third season of the Kingdom TV anime is set to premiere on NHK General TV in April 2020.
