Inuyasha Spin-Off Anime Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon Releases Character Design Drawn By Rumiko Takahashi

The anime is scheduled to be released in Fall

The official Twitter account for Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon, the spin-off anime of InuYasha, released the first character designs from franchise creator Rumiko Takahashi showing the new characters we'll come to know in the modern Reiwa setting.

14-year old Towa Higurashi

14-year old Setsuna

And a height comparison between the three characters:

Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon will be handled by director Teruo Sato (InuYasha episode director) along with Katsuyuki Sumisawa (InuYasha) writing the screenplay, while Yoshihito Hishinuma (InuYasha) is working on the animation character designs with manga creator Rumiko Takahashi doing the concept designs, with music composition from Kaoru Wada (InuYasha). The animation production is at SUNRISE. Viz Media is releasing the anime in North and Latin America and describe it as such:

In Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon, the daughters of Sesshomaru and Inuyasha set out on a journey transcending time. Set in feudal Japan, half-demon twins Towa and Setsuna are separated from each other during a forest fire. While desperately searching for her younger sister, Towa wanders into a mysterious tunnel that sends her into present-day Japan, where she is found and raised by Kagome Higurashi’s brother, Sota, and his family.

Ten years later, the tunnel that connects the two eras has reopened, allowing Towa to be reunited with Setsuna, who is now a demon slayer working for Kohaku. But to Towa’s shock, Setsuna appears to have lost all memories of her older sister. Joined by Moroha, the daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome, the three young women travel between the two eras on an adventure to regain their missing past.

Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon is scheduled to be released in Fall 2020.
