Will have TV screenings in Japan on Marine Day followed by a stream on NHK World in August
The little mascot of Kyoto Animation dips his toes into the water in his newest OVA, Baja's Studio - Baja and the Sea -. While it was released on home video in February, it was announced on July 10 that Baja's sequel will have its TV premiere on NHK General and NHK World Premium on July 23, also known as Marine Day in Japan. A broadcast on NHK-E will follow on August 14, as will a stream on NHK World Japan sometime in August, presumably with English subtitles just like the first OVA last December.
Baja's Studio - Baja and the Sea - was directed by the late Yoshiji Kigami, who perished in the arson attack on the studio in July 2019, and follows the mascot of Kyoto Animation as he tried to learn what the sea is like. The magical girl Coco shows Baja a calming sea, but things go awry when Gii makes the sea stormy, and Ga-chan is swept away by the current!
