Famed Japanese voice actor, actor, singer, and narrator Toshihiko Seki has tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19), it was announced on August 4 through his agency, 81 Produce. Seki is well known for voicing the Muzan Kibutsuji in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Iruka Umino in both Naruto and Boruto: NARUTO NEXT GENERATION, Asuka's dad in Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Duo Maxwell in Mobile Suit Gundam Wing.
81 Produce said in a statement that the 58 year old is in a stable condition and has been admitted to hospital. Seki came down with a fever on July 31 and was administered a PCR test on August 1 after going to the hospital. It was confirmed on August 3 that Seki had come down with COVID-19 and was admitted to hospital on August 4. 81 Produce is currently investigating how Seki got the virus and is working closely with the Ministry of Health to inform those who may have had a high level of contact with Seki in the last few weeks and administer tests to staff and cast.
