Kyoto Animation's Free! Swims Again in 2021 in Anime Film
Free!'s latest anime film was delayed from Summer 2020

After being delayed in the wake of the arson attack on Kyoto Animation, Free! swims again in 2021 in a "completely new movie," it was announced at an event for the franchise on August 15. A new trailer and visual for the upcoming film was released, with a tease of who might be swimming together in the next big sporting event.

While no concrete date has been announced, the film will be released in 2021. The previous date was set for around the Tokyo Olympics, which was also delayed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) to July 2021, so one must wonder...
