Meet The Four New PreCure Girls in TROPICAL-ROUGE! PRETTY CURE

The18th PreCure TV series will be simulcast on Crunchyroll

Toei Animation has updated the official website for TROPICAL-ROUGE! PRETTY CURE, the forthcoming 18th TV series in the long-running PreCure magical girl franchise, revealing its main character visuals and synopsis. The motifs of the new series are "ocean" and "cosmetics," and its theme is "Let's do what's most important right now!" Its story is set at a seaside town with a tropical image and features a mermaid character named Lola from a land of mermaids, Grand Ocean.

Yutaka Tsuchida (Kirakira PreCure a la Mode the Movie: Crisply! The Memory of Mille-feuille!) serves as the series director, alongside the series composition writer Masahiro Yokotani (Re:ZERO − Starting Life in Another World) and the character designer Yukiko Nakatani (Go! Princess PreCure).

The names of the four new PreCure girls are - Cure Summer / Manatsu Natsuumi (First grade of junior high school), Cure Coral / Sango Suzumura (First grade), Cure Papaya / Minori Ichinose (Second grade), and Cure Flamingo / Asuka Takizawa (Third grade).

Key visual:

Manatsu Natsuumi is a first-year junior high school student born and raised on a small island. On the day she moves from the island, She meets Lola, a mermaid girl who has come to the earth alone in search of the legendary warrior, PreCure. Lola's hometown, Grand Ocean, is attacked by a witch who lives in the dark depths of the ocean, and all of their motivational power is taken away. It is said that if the motivational power of humans is also taken away, the world will be in deep trouble. Lola is captured by the witch's servant, and Manatsu transforms into Cure Summer to save her.

And it is also confirmed that the new series is set to premiere in Japan on February 28, 2021. The previous PreCure TV series has aired its first episode in the first week of February. However, probably due to the two-month hiatus of the current 17th series Healin' Good Pretty Cure caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the practice seems to have to be changed.

TROPICAL-ROUGE! PRETTY CURE will be also simulcast on Crunchyroll to its members in North America, Latin America including the Caribbean, South America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa.
