Manga Author Takashi Shiina Pays Tribute to Rumiko Takahashi Works

Shiina has been tapped to produce the "comicalize" version of Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon for Shogakukan

A promotional image for the upcoming Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon "comicalize" manga adaptation by Takashi Shiina, featuring cropped artwork of the main characters as they will appear in the pages of Shueisha's Shonen Sunday S manga magazine.


As previously reported, manga author Takashi Shiina (Ghost Sweeper Mikami, Zettai Karen Children) has been hired to illustrate the "comicalize" manga adaptation of the Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon TV anime for Shogakukan's Shonen Sunday S manga magazine, and to celebrate Shiina recently took to Twitter with an illustration paying homage to some of Rumiko Takahashi's other famous creations.



The artwork (above) features Shiina's take on Rinne Rokudo from RIN-NE, Lum Invader from Urusei Yatsura, Inuyasha from Inuyasha, Ranma Saotome (Girl-type) from Ranma 1/2, and Kyoko Otonashi from Maison Ikkoku. The text of the Tweet translates as follows:


"Since the Yashahime announcement, it seems that overseas fans are also paying attention, so I'll offer this as well."
