Hanae tested positive to COVID-19 on January 28 after taking a test the day before. Hanae started coming down with a sore throat after previously negative to an Antigen test on January 24 and on January 27, he took a PCR test which returned a positive result. Hanae said he only had mild symptoms and he felt physically fine.
He was previously thought to be a close contact with a staff member who had COVID-19 on January 14, and was self-isolating away from his family until the local health authorities decided that Hanae wasn't actually a close contact on January 17. As a precaution, Hanae took a PCR test which came back negative on the same day and resumed his work on January 17.
