If you watched grave of the fireflies and thought it was great anime but depressing you will love this. This anime is not about a giant robot. It's about the people who pilot it. It's about self sacrifice and greed. What is special about Japanese cinema is the importance of relationships. This gets into the lives of 15 kids who take on an impossible responsibility. I searched out this anime because I loved the opening song. I am so glad that Crunchyroll put it in it's catalog. It's a great anime with Windows song as the opening.
