Well it is definitely way better than Fate/stay night
Fate/zero is the prequel to the visual novel Fate/stay night. There was a Fate/stay night anime but that was kinda bad. This anime is somehow 100x better than stay night. This being animated by ufotable provides some of the best animations in anime for a while. It is highly recommended that you are aware of Fate/stay night plot before watching this.

    Pros:
    . Amazing animation
    . ...

    Blood and shattered dreams
First for those worried about jumping into this prequel without having seen Fate/Stay Night, be assured that it stands well as its own story (with one caveat I'll come to later) and requires no prior knowledge of the franchise.

Fate/Zero is a rarity among TV anime in a few ways. First, the production values are outstanding. It's never less than visually accomplished, and many of the action ...

Visually awesome, Mind entrancing, Tear jerking.
    Quick sum up:

Visually stunning: Undoubtedly of of the best looking anime. Actions scenes leave you drooling and character designs are meticulously gorgeous.

Characters: Full flushed out characters with understandable motives and insecurities. Some present characters have extensively interesting backstories that could be separate stories; while the past summoned heroes have their legends and ...

God Tier, as Expected of Kinoko Nasu and Gen Urobuchi
I adore Kinoko Nasu as a writer. His work on Kara no Kyoukai, Fate/Stay Night (NOT THE HORRIBLE TV SERIES/MOVIE, THE VISUAL NOVEL), and to a somewhat lesser extent (I couldn't really get into it) Tsukihime (THE VISUAL NOVEL), were amazing. His world building skills are phenomenal, just truly. He also writes females amazingly, writing them as people, as true individuals in their own ...

    this is a mature anime
    warning: this anime is mature
so if u are some battle/romance addicted fanboy/fangirl geek, then u'd better close this because this is not some show for teens, this is a freaken anime version of game of thrones
there are no intense fights, no heart throbbing romances
this, talks about the ideals and philosophy of different people
what it means to be a king, what does it mean to save the ...

Amazing account of the 4th Holy Grail War.
Brilliant sequel to a decent anime. I loved most of the characters from the first series but like many other people have stated in the past, Shirou annoyed the hell out of me. This series was fantastic in every way from big action scenes, to lengthy dialogues that engage on many levels. The effects were stunning and the interactions between the characters were well though out and varied, in ...

    so close....almost perfect
One of the best animes I have ever seen simply great. The only problem is it's a prequel. Fate stay night was nowhere near this good and the fact that this has to set up for it is a let down. My hope is stay night gets redone so it's worthy of this

  • A liked (some of?) it
    3.7/5 stars

I'm not really a fan of this franchise, as you can probably tell. I wanted to give it a go, though, because I heard it was good from multiple sources. I watched the original Fate/stay night first and enjoyed it enough to give this one a go.
I liked some bits of it. The animation is nice, the story consistently surprised me and I even got attached to some of the ...

  • The First of the Fates
Outside of watching Today's Menu for the Emiya Family, this was my first Fate that I watched. Many of the characters I adored and enjoyed this series.

For the most part, some of the characters I wanted to hate I couldn't because I enjoyed their story so much.

  • Way better than the 2006 one!
This season of the Fate series is way better than the Fate/Stay Night 2006 version. by far!
I first watched that one and was disappointed with it, so decided not to watch anymore. However, my friend persuaded me to watch this one at least because it was apparently so good, and he wasn't lying.
