So... I haven't seen much like this before. Normally, CG anime try and actually look like 3D anime, whereas this looks more like a PS2 game. And I don't mean the pre-rendered cutscenes, I mean the actual playable world-space sequences.
Besides that, we have the bizarre introduction about the world of 'anime-chans' awaiting us that is then subsequently ignored for the rest of the show. Then there's the random Japan tourism infomercial sequences that don't seem to really have any purpose (were they expecting anyone watching this to be unfamiliar with Harajuku?)
On top of that, there's the questionable voice-acting. The fairies are all clearly amateur seiyuu, and while I'm sure they're trying their best, their efforts aren't exactly helped by the horrible audio quality and the clear evidence that no one thought to buy pop-filters for their microphones. In contrast however, both of the narrators were completely regular quality. Who even knows.
I genuinely can't tell whether this was done by a big studio as an experiment or by two guys working out of a basement to make their big break.
This series defies explanation. I encourage anyone to watch the first episode and see what they think. I know I'm gonna be watching the rest.
