    This is a new version
Just to point out that this is _not_ the version that has been around 'for some time'. It's a currently running remake. The biggest change seems to be the graphics, with many of the scenes and even much of the dialogue being identical. The previous version (2001) is available on funimation if you wish to compare the two

The Remake I've Been Waiting For...
I have always loved the Fruits Basket series, as I am a fan of the manga as well as the original anime that was released in the early 2000's. This remake is just what the series needed, as the original anime was released before the manga was completed, and left the series open ended and with no real conclusion. This updated version is stunning, and what I love so far is how true to the manga it ...

    Reimagined Fruits Basket
I have been a fan of this series for years and am glad that they did a remake of the original which was only 26 episodes and ended when things were starting to get interesting. This new one does look a bit different but is faithful to the manga and will go from start to finish.

    True to the manga series
People who grew up with the manga knows that the original anime series was cut off too short. Thankfully there will be a sense of completion for those who only stopped at the anime story before. So far, it seems that this adaptation's modern intake and pacing is appropriate for any audience wanting to go through a classic shojou.

Based on the first seventeen episodes…
*disclaimer* I have not watched the original Fruits Basket. Just saying.

I really had a fun time watching the first seventeen episodes of Fruits Basket. I especially like Tohru. I love when a book, film or tv show has a character in it that you could see yourself hanging out with. For me that character is Tohru. Does that make sense?
The animation, story and characters have a ...

Tohru is the very definition of cinnamon roll and sunshine.
I didnt watch the original anime nor I knew about it before this came out. I'm so glad they decided to.
This is an anime with a lot of emotions involved. The characters are not one dimensional. They are relatable.
Tohru the MC is a highschool girl who always has a smile on her face and face anything that life throws at her. She goes through a lot but instead of succumbing into despair she ...

  • It is everything I wanted it to be.
The humour is there, the heroine is relatable in many senses and just lovable as a whole. The romance is in ever episode, giving me the perfect frustration at always being just borderline. The main bad guy is clear and I hate him, his demise had best be on its way. There’s also mystery, questions I have that the anime makes me work for to get the answers. I’m emotionally invested in every ...

  • Refreshing concept with good character personalities
This was really fun to watch, each character had a good build up and a back story as well which made the characters easy to understand. Each of the characters have a unique personality that's very different from one another which made this really easy to watch. Not as full of romance as I'd like but just enough to make sure it attracts a wider audience as some people don't like mushy romance ...
