    "I love Precure, so I really wanted to put it in the film."

    During the first broadcast of Weathering with You on Japanese TV last night, fans of Pretty Cure re-ignited the love the film showed to the series with the appearance of cosplayers at a Comiket-like event in the film, with both becoming a trending topic on Japanese messaging boards. Shinkai explained how he was able to get the Toei characters in a Toho film and why he did so.   • Weathering With You Has A Newly-edited Special ED Movie for Its First Terrestrial Broadcast

    Makoto Shinkai's 2019 anime film Tenki no Ko / Weathering With You will be broadcast on terrestrial television in Japan (TV Asahi and its affiliates) for the first time on January 3, 2021.
