    Final showing of "Moto Hagio Exhibition ~ Silver Ship & Blue Sea ~" will be at the Span Art Gallery in Tokyo

    The "Moto Hagio Exhibition ~ Silver Ship & Blue Sea ~", an art exhibition highlighting the work of pioneering artist shōjo manga and shōnen-ai manga artist Moto Hagio, will conclude its 2015 tour of Japan in December in Tokyo.

  • Moto Hagio Becomes First Shoujo Manga Author to be Honored with Purple Ribbon

    The second woman to receive the award following 1982's recognition of Sazae-san's Machiko Hasegawa

    Moto Hagio is a "founding mother" of shoujo manga as part of the "Year 24 Group" who pioneered shoujo manga written by women, with a new perspective on gender identity issues and elements such as shōnen-ai.
