    A Very Compelling War Drama
    The story itself is not revolutionary, it does explore themes of politics and war, rivalry and romance, and most importantly life and death. The main protagonist is no interesting character, we do see him grow as a lord with the help of the companions, as well as allied lords from neighbouring territories.

    Stick with it, it gets better
    I'm not sure what convinced me to stick with Grancrest Senki until the end, but I'm glad I did because it turned out to be a surprisingly good JRPG inspired action-adventure series.

    Good if you like drama
    The story and concept overall is good, and as said in the title, it contains good drama and suspense. However, if you are looking for user friendly anime, this maybe not your cup of tea. Having seen characters make such poor decisions and protagonist not being able to do anything left me more frustrated and angry. Personally, I would keep watching hoping and wishing for a miracle.

    Interesting premise although a bit slow
    While the overall plot is quite basic, without any themes, symbolism, and foreshadowing. The story itself has an interesting concept although none of the supporting ideas are particularly new and amazing.
