This won't make a lot of sense if you haven't seen the previous two seasons of Tokyo Ghoul
If you haven't either seen the first two seasons of Tokyo Ghoul or you haven't read the manga up to this point, then watching those first or reading the manga is a must before seeing this.

If you have done so, then I gotta say that the first episode of TG:re is pretty spicy. It leaves a lot of questions unanswered, and that leaves me excited to see how the rest of the anime pans out. Though it ...

    Punishes Anime only watchers
I have never in my life seen an anime that punishes the watcher so much if they don't read the manga. It was still entertaining but the amount the story jumps around makes it a difficult watch. Things happen with no explanation at all and then get ignored for the rest of the season. The first 2 seasons, Tokyo Ghoul and TG √A, were quite linear and easy to follow and didn't feel like too much story ...

Thoughts on Tokyo Ghoul from a Non-Manga Viewer
TL;DR: Tokyo Ghoul is a good show overall, but the series feels weaker in the RE seasons (3 and 4) than in comparison to the first two season. The series would've been much better if there were more episodes in the RE seasons to allow a more natural flow to the story and character development. Despite some flaws, particularly in later seasons, Tokyo Ghoul is still definitely worth watching. If ...

pretty spicy so far ma boi
pretty gud. ngl I'm really looking forward to how this is going to pan out in the future. I am also looking forward to seeing how all the characters we know and love have grown and developed. It has a very different feel to the two previous seasons which I thought I would be against yet it has pleasantly surprised me and I hope it keeps doing so as it continues.

    My absolute favourite anime series.
This, along with the original Tokyo Ghoul anime, is my favourite anime series. It has new ideas, stories about love, hate, war and peace. The storyline was amazing and it leaves me wanting more to come. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys watching anime. Definitely deserves the 5 stars from me.

    Quality series can't deny
It won't make sense to people who haven't watched the first 2 seasons. If you have watched the first 2 seasons then this is a great watch well made, maybe it should have been longer but there is always the manga great effects and detail if you're fan make sure to watch it!

    So much potential wasted.
If they were going to reimagine the manga as an Anime, then they should have recreated the whole story. If you go through each episode of season 3 you see nothing but complaints from the fans who read the Tokyo Ghoul Manga books and from the fans who only watched the Anime show. So much is missing here it's like we just skipped a whole season of the show.

The manga fans are complaining because ...

A lazy adaptation, a cash grab with awful animation, lazy shading, and skipped art/scenes.
This is clearly just a terrible adaptation, any reviews saying the animation and style is good are completely oblivious to what good animation is. The fight scenes are rushed/skipped, with minimal effort put into the animation, skipping heavily detailed shots from the manga, the gore is tragically censored (compared to the manga or even the previous two seasons). The most remarkable and ...

"Tokyo Ghoul" = great! ... ":re" = Distaster
I watched the first two seasons of Tokyo Ghoul recently and found the characters to be very well developed and the action to be equally gripping. The animation left something to be desired, but for a tv anime (as opposed to an anime with a feature film production budget), the combat and dialogue animation was actually quite good! I noticed some scenes were almost noticeably better production value ...

    :REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I cannot help it, but only give 1 star. Therefore, I will point out why I took the other 4 stars.
    Unfaithful to its superior manga
☆ It does not include many of the chapters and their events from the manga. Therefore, it left the majority of the audience not being able to completely understand what is happening from one episode to another and had to read the manga in order to do so... ...
