Mamoru Hosoda's films come to life in upcoming museum event
To celebrate the past and future works of anime director Mamoru Hosoda, a MIRAI-themed exhibition is coming to Tokyo next month. The show will include life-sized, immersive elements -- and we're being given an early look at a few of them.
The exhibition, which will also see Hosoda's previous works represented, will be divided into five main parts representative of major parts of the film. Museum-goers can explore the moment at which Kun-chan and the future version of his little sister first meet, a futuristic train station, and more.
An "Other World" area of the exhibit will offer the same treatment to Hosoda's other films, including The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Summer Wars.
Mamoru Hosoda's Worlds Across Time will be on display at Tokyo Dome City's Gallery AaMo from July 25 to September 17.
